It is with great pleasure that we are seeing our best friends Marvin & Deborah start the process of relocating to Denver this week. In fact, Greg spent much of Friday afternoon helping Deborah load up their moving van in Colorado Springs while Sheryl and Marvin were still at work. This was the least we could do after they helped us move our heavy furniture when we bought our condo back in 2002.
The move will be a gradual transition for them because Marvin is still working on arranging a job transfer to Denver. Furthermore, the lease on their apartment in Colorado Springs won't be up until November, so Marvin will continue to spend some nights there so he doesn't have to commute between the two cities every day. Deborah, on the other hand, is already working in Denver and living full-time at their new home with their roommate Brenda, whom you might recall from our New Year's Eve adventure at the Mon Chalet.
After we finally brought the moving van to Denver, we spent a good hour chatting in the kitchen of their new residence. Half-jokingly, we asked them how often we should visit them because we don't want to smother them. The two of them lead fairly busy lives, so Deborah replied, "You have to catch us before you can smother us!" Frankly, if we lived next door to one another, we would probably end up acting like sitcom neighbors who always enter each others homes without knocking.
